Our penpal scheme is a successful scheme put in place to give our sponsored students the chance to be able to make a new friend whilst improving their English and learning about our typical western cultures. In addition, it allows our penpals to see an insight into a Gambian culture.

Our penpals write to their students approximately three times a year, and quite often receive report cards and photographs. We also take a suitcase full of letters and gifts to the penpals when we travel to the region on our annual trip. Each year we meet with the staff and students and hand out their letters and gifts. They are always extremely grateful and are very keen to write their replies.
